How Long?

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

christinapiperHow long will you be gone, this time?

How long will you be home?

How long can we do this?

How long will we do this?

How long will it take for me to lower my walls, this time, next time and the time after that?

How long before I know that we will survive this?

How long before the next one?

How long do we have left?

How long will we survive after this is over?

How long will I cry?

How long will I be angry, depressed and full of fear?

How long before I feel nothing?

How long before you don’t come back?

How long can this go on?

How long will we live apart, before that is normal?

How long can I love a soldier? Well, that one I can answer. I will love him for as long as the world turns. I will love him for as long as the moon hangs in the sky.

My world, the world that is full of the question “how long?” is uncertain. The one certainty is that I love a soldier and have loved him longer then he has worn a uniform and I will love him for however long.
