Coloring Page!

melissa-seligman_bioOur friend, Beth Allen over at Troops In Touch, has provided free coloring pages for our kiddos! If you haven’t had a chance to check out what Beth is doing, go on over there and take a look around. We can attest to how wonderful her postcards are, and her heart certainly is in the right place.

The beginning of school is one of the most exciting and nerve-wracking times of the year. As military kids, our children often start school in a brand new area, nervous about making friends and fitting in. Or, they begin school with their parent home, wondering how the dynamic will change after a deployment. Or start a new chapter with their parent away again. All of it includes adjustment. And our newest coloring page provides a way to start the conversation about their worries or fears, or even excitement, about starting school. Take the time to ask them questions, and as always, take the time to create with them.

Just as exercise, writing, or reading may be an outlet for us going through a deployment, art is a great way to “witness” your child’s emotions and struggles.

We hope your kids enjoy this, and thanks, Beth, for giving it! Keep checking back for resources just like this for our military kids!
